The Kween's Emporium is about to change to a new site. I am currently building the site to be ready for the next Vintage show and the new site will consist of Costume Jewellery, Vintage Clothing and my own Reclaimed jewellery made from all vintage components. To take a look at the new site go to
It is a huge task to add all the images, descriptions and prices so bear with me and keep visiting as it will change and grow regularly. Once it is complete this site will revert to web development and design and other graphic design services.
The next I Love Vintage show is the 16th - 18th April 2010, I look forward to seeing you all there again!
Here are some of the lovely ladies who visited the stand at the last show. Please contact me and I will email your photos as we discussed on the day. Thank you for posing!
The Emporium is Linda Steven's creative outlet. Linda's design skills are multifaceted, spanning fashion design to photography. She is CIW certified, and the holder of a Multimedia degree and has 15 years experience in the web development field. Thriving on her creative side she started the Kween's Emporium to bring it all together.
Linda creates much of her non-vintage new jewellery with silver (sterling and fine), gemstones, copper (100%), and raw brass; many of these being one-off pieces.
As well as being extraordinarily beautiful, many of the items are imbued with the beneficial healing properties attributed to their gemstones and materials.
Why KWEEN?
The Kween domain was purchased some 10 years ago now with the intention of building a site dedicated to my cat breeding interests . The breeding female is known as a 'queen' and kween was originally intended to be simply a play on this. I hold the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) Prefix Rishabha in the UK and bred Birmans (The sacred cat of Burma) there for many years.
As things go the 'kween' cat site was never built and cats were no longer bred, Rishabha became my eBay user ID and a new phase of life was about to begin. As a name goes Kween has proved to mean many things to different people and that seems a good enough reason to stay with it! Getting here
In the 70's I ran my own retail outlet in Surry Hills called 'Binah Shades'; as a licensed antique dealer I bought and sold bric a brac from the turn of the century and designed and made 1920's style lampshades. These were hand sewn, fringes, braids and tassells hand dyed with crystal beads finishing them off.
During the 80's I was in the UK and as my first love was fashion I immersed myself in a City & Guilds in Fashion course learning garment construction to coture standards.
I have built websites and used a variety of graphic design programs for many years and gaining the Prosoft Certification as CIW Master Designer accreditation. Although working full time as the web manager for a Government agency I decided to round out and build upon those skills by undertaking a Multimedia degree online with Central Queensland University (CQU).
Photography is a passion and I have studied with the Australian Centre for Photography (ACP) in Paddington Sydney as well doing Photomedia as part of my degree.
As it happens all these skills can now combine within the Kween's Emporium. I look forward to serving you.
